City of Plainfield Distributes Bulk Recycling Stickers for Residents

Starting June 24th, the Plainfield Town Clerk will issue bulky waste stickers.

Any resident with a car registered in Plainfield will have access to these stickers, which will allow them to bypass calling a junk removal service and have items like old carpets, furniture and scrap metal hauled away for free. One sticker will be issued per household, person and vehicle.

These stickers will allow residents to make up to 18 trips. The can be used as of July 1st through June 30 of 2014.

It will be very interesting to see what numbers come out of this effort, given that it will last an entire year. What is a sure thing is that it will greatly reduce the amount of bulk waste going to landfills and improperly disposed.
