“With all of the doom and gloom in the economy, we wanted to create an opportunity for stay at home moms and dads to contribute to the family income and help recycle junk for family and friends,” Jason Parr, President and Co-Founder of E-Cycle Environmental, said.

This idea was inspired when Parr’s wife expressed interest in bringing in some extra income while home with their kids. As he contemplated the situation, he realized he had a couple of unique advantages:

• A fleet of trucks that cover the West Coast
• The ability to recycle almost any type of household junk.

His wife could approach family and friends to see if they needed a junk removal service. If they said yes, then they could use E-Cycle’s trucks. Jason quickly realized that anyone could do this very easily from their own home and make extra money for the family.

The idea for Rosie the Recycler program was born.

The name Rosie the Recycler is inspired by Rosie the Riveter who, a cultural icon of the United States, who represented American women who worked in factories during World War II. From the original Rosie the Riveter, we derive strength, innovation and a can-do spirit. Current times are not all that different from the original Rosie’s heyday.

Everyone has junk in their household—in the garage, attic or spare bedroom.
